If there are two things we know about Rande Gerber and his wife Cindy Crawford, it’s that they love Malibu and are smart with real estate. While the pair currently live in a mansion in the coastal California town, they’re selling their original beachfront residence for $7.495 million, four times more than the $1.85 million they paid for it in the 1990s.

Why is it worth quadruple the price? Well, for starters, the location is unbeatable. The Spanish-style home is accessed via a gated lane between Lechuza Beach and El Matador State Beach, and sits right at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. From the moment you walk in from the terra-cotta-tiled porch, you’re hit with views of crashing waves, and those views continue throughout the 2,413-square-foot four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath home.

The bright and airy central space features a living room, dining room, and kitchen all in one, and a wall of sliding glass doors opens to a sizable glass-railed deck. No matter where one stands in the common area, the stunning coastline is visible. A white, slightly pitched and beamed ceiling adds to the openness of the space. while the dark hardwood floors provide a natural, beach-inspired element.

Upstairs, the master suite features the same ocean views and comes with a private balcony and fireplace. The bathroom boasts a jetted soaking tub and skylight to enhance the oceanic vibe. One of the guest bedrooms faces the ocean and features a small balcony to enjoy. Meanwhile, another guest bedroom has views of the green cliffside.

And though the model and her businessman husband no longer live in the pad, according to reports Crawford’s affinity for comfortable, clean design can be found throughout. “I’m about comfort and the way things feel,” she previously told Architectural Digest. “My husband, he would sacrifice functionality for the look, and I wouldn’t.”
