Douglas Elliman Lists 5.4 Acre Historic Malibu Estate for $14.5M

A property with deep roots in the music industry.

It’s for a good reason so many of Hollywood’s filmmakers, and recording artists have chosen the Morning View Estate to record, film, or simply be inspired. For decades this secluded hillside retreat has attracted musicians from every genre, and now the property’s for sale.

According to the property’s current owner, artists and musicians including Incubus, System of a Down, The Black Eyed Peas, Will.i.am, Lil Jon, Fergie, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Cher, and many others have found this private residence to be an “extraordinary place.” Some say they are attracted to the property’s “energy,” but the owners attribute “perfect acoustical design” to the appeal.

The American rock band Incubus loved this location so much they titled the band’s fourth album after the street name “Morning View.” Keyboardist DJ Kilmore is noted for saying, “Ah, Morning View, it’s time to rock.”

“Properties of this size and with this much usable land are few and far between in Malibu,” says Stephanie Smith, Estates Director, Douglas Elliman. “The only limitation would be one’s own imagination.”

This iconic property is located in the Malibu Park community and is currently listed on the market for $14.5M.
