The Garwood residence is now listed for sale

For some time now Malibu has showcased some of the most beautifully designed houses by John Lautner including the Segel House of the former Dodgers co-owner Jamie McCourt and Stevens House owned by Michael LaFetra. However, the recently listed John Lautner-designed home in Malibu has created a buzz among both the media and enthusiasts.

The Garwood Residence is a 3,650 square-foot luxurious and romantic estate, which sits on just over an acre of land overlooking Little Dume, Malibu’s most coveted beach.

Built in 1972, the home boasts three bedrooms and three bathrooms and features a lighted tennis court, swimming pool, gym and yoga studio. Large windows and open design offer amazing views of the mountains, woods, and ocean.

Realtor.com refers to the property as “one of Malibu’s finest architectural homes” and a “romantic haven”. While listing records at Redfin have termed the house “a resort-style” space and an “architectural gem”.

John Lautner was a modernist architect whose work also includes the Foster Carling Residence, The Chemosphere and the Hope residence.

The Garwood residence has recently returned to the market with an asking price of $14.9 million.
