Another wife and another property back on the market for Larry King. This beautiful estate is sure to catch they eyes of celebrities looking to buy in this sought-after area of Beverly Hills.
In the midst of a divorce from his seventh wife, Shawn Southwick, Larry King has listed the 10,810-square-foot mansion they shared for $16.995 million, according to reports. The veteran TV and radio host and Southwick purchased the Beverly Hills estate together in 2007 for $11.75 million.
Set behind a high-security gate on a nearly half an acre, the lavish home boasts seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms between the main house and a generously proportioned poolside guesthouse. The two-story main residence is made up of the highest-quality materials, including imported Italian limestone and Venetian plaster. The imposing wrought-iron-accented front doors open to a skylight-topped double-height rotunda with twin staircases. To one side of the main entrance is a formal living room, and to the other is a formal dining room; the former features a wood-burning fireplace with an ornate mantel and built-in bookshelves, while the latter boasts a number of intricate light fixtures and shelves affixed to the walls. Deeper into the home is the family room, which has a unique coffered wood ceiling and entire walls of glass-fronted built-in bookcases and shelves.
The kitchen is brightly lit thanks to a wall of French windows that faces the backyard, and is equipped with high-end appliances, wood cabinets, and a large center island. A separate, sun-drenched breakfast room features more windows, as well as French doors that open onto the covered terrace.
Upstairs, the master suite dominates much of the space. It includes a separate sitting room with a wood-burning fireplace, plus not one but two bathrooms, one of which boasts a jetted tub set amongst bay windows for the ultimate relaxation. A private second-floor terrace accessible via the master suite offers up an outdoor space. Five other en suite bedrooms fill out the rest of the second floor.
Elsewhere in the home is a game room with a wet bar, as well as a home gym. Out back, the home features an arched loggia with stone columns ideal for outdoor lounging, as well as a swimming pool fed by a number of stone cherub statues. Tall hedges surround the perimeter of the backyard for extra privacy.
